In math, we are working on division/checking division, and averaging. We just finished a unit on measurement equations. We had to do a project on measurements. We had to measure five people's height. We measured our families and friends.
In language, we are learning about quotation marks, which go around dialog. They also go around titles of poems, songs, book titles, and names of chapters.
You will love what we are doing in science. We are studying birds, so we all were assigned to different birds, and we had to create a 3-D model of that bird. McKenna made a Spoonbill. Kyla made a Brown Pelican. Abbi made a Sandhill Crane. Maddie made a Red Shouldered Hawk. They all look amazing.
In geography we are learning geographical terms, they are: lake, river, mouth, source, data, upstream, downstream, gulf, channel, canal, sea, bay, and river. We just had a quiz on it. One day, a special guest came in and helped us come up with motions to remember our terms. We also made flashcards to help us study.
In P.E., we are working on physical testing, and football. We did some football drills such as throwing and catching, hiking, and punting. We all partnered up with other students from our grade. In our physical testing, we had to do push-ups, pull ups, crunches, and trunk lifts. We also had to run twelve laps, which is a half a mile!
In art class, we are doing a project where we weave paper into a beautiful piece of art that would look beautiful in the Tabernacle. It goes all the way back to Bible times. After you weave the papers, they look a little plain, so you draw designs on them.
In music, we are doing an activity called Recorder Karate, and for each song we correctly play on the recorder, we get a belt! That's the news of fourth grade!
